1. Lawn Care Technician

Job Type: Employee
Status: Full-Time

Description: Bloomers Lawn & Garden Center and Executive Lawns & Pools is a full service landscape and garden center located in South Sioux City Nebraska at 2302 W 29th Street. We are a locally owned family run business and are looking for a "Seasonal Lawn Care Technicians." This opening will be filled beginning April 17th and continue through Mid-November. This position will include day, evening and weekend hours with a varying schedule working Saturdays and Sundays that could be up to 50+ hours per week.

Current Opportunities:

Landscape Foreman - Install landscape materials such as trees, shrubs, flowers, mulch, sod, retaining walls, pathways, and patios following a landscape design plan. Manage team members and engage with all work activities. Previous landscaping experience a plus. Irrigation experience a plus but would train. Valid driver's license required and must have the ability to pass a DOT Physical. Ability to lift heavy items.

Turf Foreman - Manage turf crew activities and help maintain properties to specifications. Use of mowing equipment, trimmers, hand blowers, pruners, edging equipment and any hand or power tools required to complete the job. You will be driving a company truck and trailer on a daily basis. Valid driver's license required and must have the ability to pass a DOT Physical. Ability to lift heavy items.

Turf Technician - Ability to use and follow instructions on mowing and landscape equipment. Use of mowing equipment, trimmers, hand blowers, pruners, edging equipment and any hand or power tools required to complete the job. You maybe driving a company truck on a daily basis. Valid driver's license required. Ability to lift heavy items.

Chemical Technician - Mix and apply fertilizer and pesticide, through sprays and granular products on turf areas according to specifications. This position requires the ability to pass the Ornamental and Turf Test. Must have good math skills, ability to take and pass the required tests, and have a valid driver's license. Must be able to drive a manual transmission, pass a DOT Physical, and ability to communicate and follow directions. Previous experience is preferred, but would train the right individual.

Swimming Pool Installation and Maintenance - Have the ability to learn how to put up an above ground swimming pool and to learn the techniques required to maintain them.

Qualifications:

  • High School Graduate
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Heavy Lifting required
  • Minimum 1-3 years work experience
  • Drivers License

2. Seasonal Retail Sales Associate

Job Type: Employee
Status: Part-Time

Description: Bloomers Lawn & Garden Center and Executive Lawns & Pools is a full service landscape and garden center located in South Sioux City Nebraska at 2302 W 29th Street. We are a locally owned family run business and are looking for a "Seasonal Retail Sales Associate." This opening will be filled beginning April 7th and continue through Mid-November. This position will include day, evening and weekend hours with a varying schedule working Saturdays and Sundays that could be up to 35 hours per week.

Primary Responsibilities are but not limited to:

  • Assist customers with selection and sales
  • Recommend customers with appropriate materials to meet the customer's needs
  • Advise and educate customer about proper plant selection, planting techniques, use of soil amendments, insecticides, herbicides, ect.
  • Close sales at cash register and encourage return business

Qualifications:

  • High School Graduate
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to lift as least 50 pounds
  • Minimum 1-3 years retail experience

Skills:

  • Ability to read, write, and speak English
  • Mathematical skills
  • Ability to work a cash register
  • Ability to use a calculator
  • Ability to make change
